How Much Exercise Does Your Dog Really Need?

You pick up the lead and suddenly your dog is doing laps around the hallway. Or perhaps yours gives you that “Do we really have to?” look before reluctantly leaving their cosy bed. Every dog has their own idea of a good walk!

How much exercise they need depends on their breed, age, health and fitness. Some thrive on longer adventures, while others enjoy shorter, gentler outings. Puppies and older dogs need a routine suited to their stage of life, and your vet can help if you’re unsure what’s right for yours.

And those endless sniffing stops? They’re part of the fun. That patch of grass might look unremarkable to us, but to your dog it’s practically the neighbourhood news bulletin. Giving them time to sniff and explore, alongside walks, play and a little training, helps keep their mind busy too.

At Grrowlingly Purrfect, our social walks in our private, secure field give dogs time to explore, stretch their legs and catch up with their canine pals. There’s always something worth sniffing—and usually a friend keen to investigate it with them.

A little adventure, good company and a cosy snooze afterwards. Sounds like a pretty lovely day to us!
